In July 2007 we began serving a hot nutritious breakfast to the homeless and low-income population of Fayetteville, NC. Our faithful kitchen staff is comprised of servers, cooks, and dishwashers. Kitchen duties are shared among the residents from The Lodge and our Frink Street homes.
These meals are served by one of our teams of volunteers from local churches, Christian clubs, and local businesses.
Each weekday morning, a volunteer team arrives at 7:00 AM to set up tables. Our homeless family arrives between 7:30 & 8:20 for breakfast, showers, laundry, and other services. Before breakfast begins, there is live music and devotions which include family members reading scripture, singing, and praying from the heart. The fellowship and sense of community is evident in the way people greet each other by name and chat on our front porch before and after the meal.
-Our current monthly average is between 85 and 110 people each morning.
-So far, we’ve served over 21,000 delicious home-cooked meals during the last year!
Together, we are changing the face of homelessness in our community!
