July 2018
Greetings Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,
The long, hot days of summer are upon us and they require us to feed, water, weed and carefully manage our yards, flower beds and gardens like no other time of the year. We face similar challenges at Operation Inasmuch and I am happy to say that we are weathering these summer days well.
Here is a glimpse of some of our activities that happen daily, weekly or monthly in our ministry. Between 85-110 men, women and sometimes children start their day by eating breakfast, hearing announcements, participating in devotions and enjoying the blessings of over 20 services that are provided free of charge to our breakfast family. The Lord continues to work miracles among the men in our Lodge. 38 men have made professions of faith, 73 have moved into their own apartments, 175 formerly homeless men have gotten jobs since the Lodge opened 16 months ago. An average of 25 men attend our weekly Wednesday night Bible study. In addition, our Frink Street family continues to excel. Each man who lives there has a job, savings account and over half of them own cars to drive to and from work!
Truly, some of these activities are nothing less than miraculous. Let me share with you how our God is accomplishing these wonderful results. He is using you, the hundreds of volunteers who regularly serve and support Operation Inasmuch and our small staff to be His hands and feet here on Hillsboro, Chance and Frink Streets. Many of you cook, serve meals, wash dishes, pots and pans, provide medical support, cut hair, perform eye checks and provide reading glasses, paint our facilities, help maintain our buildings, provide counseling, serve as case managers, donate food, linens, toiletries and the funds that we need to operate each day. Our staff coordinates with you and we serve side by side to demonstrate God’s love to our homeless and low-income family. It is a joy to watch how He is using us.
In closing, let me make a request. Please continue to pray for us regularly. Ask God to give us wisdom, loving hearts and insight to proclaim Jesus effectively with compassion to our entire Inasmuch Family. Your prayers, selfless service and sacrificial giving is what sustains us each day, to include during these dog days of summer.
May God bless each of you and your families each day,
Ray
